Good recipes but some unconventional ingredients and tools are needed.
1. Coconut Meat + Ability to Cut Coconuts (required for many smoothies)
2. Blue green algae, agave, acai, ginger, goji berries, cacao nibs, tocotrienols, hemp protein, mesquite pod meal, maple powder, ancho chile powder, shoyu, lecithin (for nut milk drinks)
3. Soaked nuts (almonds, Brazil nuts, macadamia, etc)
4. Tools: Dehydrator, Juicer (especially for vegetables such as cucumbers, carrots, and ginger), Strong Blender (author uses Vita Mix)
There are very few recipes which do not require these ingredients and tools.

Healing Psoriasis: The Natural Alternative Review

Healing Psoriasis: The Natural Alternative

I came across this book by a (so-called) fluke although in reality--it is a timely answer to a 32 yr-old prayer. I read the book with great enthusiasm because my current doctor had put me on an elimination diet to detoxify my liver. No sooner had he done this than my skin began to clear up. When I read this book, the author says that many people initially find relief to psoriasis when their doctors put them on elimination diets for other reasons. Thus the undisputable proof that diet and nutrition have everything to do with your health. When I finished the book, I gave it to my doctor who was extremely open to its suggestions. We immediately put 2 or 3 of the book's suggestions to work in addition to what I was already doing. Even though we are in the middle of winter (the worst time of year for the psioratic), my skin continues to clear and is soft and supple. I have since told everyone I know who suffers with this skin disorder, about this book. Please, please--give this book a chance. Improvements are generally noticed within 6-8 weeks. You need to give your skin a chance to heal underneath and then make its way to the surface where you will eventually see it. The first thing I noticed was that it stopped spreading! Diet is rather strict while the skin is healing--then you can play around with what works for you and more importantly, what doesn't. In the meantime, stop eating tomatoes, white potatoes, eggplant, peppers of any kind (except black pepper), vinegar and alcohol--and if you smoke, either quit or cut down to 3-4 cigarettes a day. Tobacco is a "nightshade" and exceptionally toxic to the psioratic. Increase your fruits and vegetables. No red meat (including pork). Limit all dairy products to nonfat or 1% milk fat, and even then, limit your consumption. And (obviously) limit or eliminate sugar. Cut out gluten products (pasta, breads, cakes and cereals). Take a tablespoon of flaxseed oil each morning and evening--and also two capsules of Omega 3 fish oil capsules, both morning and evening. Keep flaxseed oil in refrigerator and Omega 3 fish oil caps in freezer. These few guidelines will get you started until you can read this book. Sounds like alot, but clear skin will be worth it!

The Fiber35 Diet: Nature's Weight Loss Secret Review

The Fiber35 Diet: Nature's Weight Loss Secret
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I think Brenda Watson is correct in her assessment that eating a high fiber diet can help an individual lose weight. Doughnuts, chips, and candy which are all fiberless and nutritionless tend to pack the pounds on. Eating high fiber foods like whole grains, beans, and broccoli make you feel fuller, so you eat less. Many of us know the feeling of eating junk food and feeling bloated and then hungry pretty soon after.
Brenda goes into depth in her book as to how fiber can be beneficial. She also recommends some interesting ideas such as using a sauna to speed up the metabolism and burn more calories.
The disappointment with the book is that the actual diet and the plan for life relies not on real food but on the use of bars and shakes. I don't see anything wrong with drinking a shake or eating a bar, but I would prefer to eat real food and sadly, that is not in this plan.
I noticed after reading other reviews that Brenda sells bars and shakes, so it does seem like she may have an agenda with the meal plan she proposes. Brenda does offer some great information on fiber, if she had offered a plan with bars/shakes and another plan with "real" food, this could have been a great book. But since she didn't I personally feel there are better fiber plan books on the market.

Webster's New World Student's Dictionary Review

Webster's New World Student's Dictionary

This is the dictionary my child's teacher suggested. It is a very good dictionary for middle school age children. The print, though not as large as a children's primary dictionary, is not nearly as small as the print of college dictionaries. The volume is large enough to encompass a large volume of words, also a plus for school work. It contains definitions, synonyms and antonyms. This is most helpful for homework. The book is hardbound which makes it easier to use for children as they do not need to keep one hand one the page to keep the book open while writing. We have yet to find a shortfall, when using this dictionary. :)

What's Eating Your Child?: The Hidden Connection Between Food and Your Child's Well-Being Review

What's Eating Your Child: The Hidden Connection Between Food and Your Child's Well-Being
Average Reviews:

This review is going to be primarily a review of the author, based on my family's direct personal experience, and how she has practiced what she wrote about in her book. Our son was a 90% height and 90% weight baby and early toddler. As he entered preschool, his height remain 90% but weight dropped to 50%. Through elementary school, he continued to lose ground, reaching about 50% height and 10% weight around 6th or 7th grade. Added to this, he demonstrated ADD (although not hyperactive) and anxiety problems, he had regular diarrhea and significant gas. We were scared. We tried child therapy, psychiatry, and eventually turned briefly to ADD medications (with horrible results). Finally, one of his teachers pointed us to Kelly Dorfman, who worked within a drivable distance. We contacted her through email, sent her records of our son's eating, and spoke with her on the phone. She concluded he wasn't absorbing what he was eating. She ordered some digestive tests, we met with her, and she recommended some supplements and diet changes. Over the next year, our son gained 20 lbs and grew about 8 inches. He's now 16 yrs old, pushing 6 feet, and his other symptoms have improved tremendously. Kelly Dorfman knows what she's talking about. Oh, and yes, my wife read the book and loved it.

Feed Your Face: Younger, Smoother Skin and a Beautiful Body in 28 Delicious Days Review

Feed Your Face: Younger, Smoother Skin and a Beautiful Body in 28 Delicious Days
Average Reviews:

This book has good information regarding foods to boost collagen and elastin production, and how to keep from sabotaging your complexion by eating foods that will cause breakouts and other skin conditions...but, it's very poorly organized. There are interjections with pages of unrelated information and chapters repeat paragraphs, verbatim, from prior chapters. There is a sample "diet" in the back that helps a person create a meal plan that incorporates all of the foods she recommends, but it seems to be somewhat tailored to asian cuisine. I also felt that it really needed a summary of what foods provide what benefit so it would be easier to modify your own taste interests to incorporate her suggestions. The most I got from this book was that the superfoods are: red and orange veggies and almonds, and that the skin produces Vitamin D through a chemical reaction with the sun's rays (UVB or UVA..? don't recall which she said). She also pushes a lot of products by brand name which she admits she's been paid to research...which makes me assume she has a bias towards certain products regardless of whether they are truly the best. She also promotes her own practice and says that botox and other procedures are good to do and that she's basically the best.
I just didn't get a good feeling that I could believe everything because of her personal interest in selling/promoting her products and services, but there were some good tidbits of information about nutrients in food and the benefits, and descriptions of skin and hair problems and which nutrient would fix it (like why some people's eye brows get so thin on the edges, and why eyes get puffy), so I didn't feel like it was a total waste of money. You just have to suffer through a bunch to get those good tidbits.

My mother gave this to me as a wedding gift and although I have been cooking all my life I have found this to be extremely helpful with things I've always seen my mother make but never thought about how to actually make. It also has a lot of neat pictures about how to do things and includes details about menu planning, setting a table, menu ideas, and how to throw a dinner party. I love this so much I'm also sending a copy to all my friends who are getting married and can't wait to give it to my own daughters as wedding gifts. (my college roomates mother gave her one too and she is also in love with it)

The Complete Vegan Kitchen: An Introduction to Vegan Cooking with More than 300 Delicious Recipes-from Easy to Elegant Review

The Complete Vegan Kitchen: An Introduction to Vegan Cooking with More than 300 Delicious Recipes-from Easy to Elegant
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
One of the first vegan cookbooks I purchased several years ago, and have turned to frequently over the years, is Very Vegetarian (currently available new and used from Amazon), also by Jannequin Bennett - executive chef of TJ's restaurant in Richmond Virginia's 5-star Jefferson Motel. It is an attractive, well-written collection of over 300 plant-based recipes that I have enjoyed perusing as well as using. For those new to vegan cooking, Ms. Bennett's book contains helpful supplemental material introducing what may be unfamiliar ingredients, the recipes are extraordinarily well-written, and 16 color-plates throughout the book help one picture just how enticingly vegan food can be presented. Most importantly, recipes I have tried have been delicious and well received by my family! Naturally, I was excited to see that Ms. Bennett had a "new" collection out this year. What a disappointment to discover that THE COMPLETE VEGAN KITCHEN IS A RETITLED, PAPERBACK EDITION OF HER PREVIOUS BOOK. If I didn't already own the hardback edition, this would have been an exciting new addition to my now extensive collection of vegan cookbooks. It has the same interesting foreword by Olympic Athlete of the Century, Carl Lewis, all the same wonderful recipes, and is illustrated with the same beautiful photos - just presented in a colorful paperpack cover this time around. If you don't already own Very Vegetarian, I highly recommend The Complete Vegan Kitchen.Very Vegetarian

A vegan diet-one without any animal products-is unusually healthy because it is high in fiber, low in saturated fat, and very nutritious. Nine-time Olympic gold medal winner Carl Lewis says, "My best year of track competition was the first year I ate a vegan diet. . . . My weight is under control, I like the way I look, I enjoy eating more, and I feel great."

The Complete Vegan Kitchen is "one of the best vegan cookbooks I have read," said famousveggie.com. For the person just beginning to chose meatless meals, it provides information on choosing a vegan diet, nutritional information, and recipes with familiar foods and techniques. "The powerful nutrition information in the first forty pages is worth the price of the book!" says Dr. Neal D. Barnard. However, for the person more experienced with a plant-based, diet, it provides recipes that will broaden their culinary horizon.

What I liked in this book is the first part dedicated to "Major Agers" such as genes, oxidation, toxins, sugar, overeating, hormones, UV radiation, etc. This part, consisting of about 300 pages scientifically discusses all the aging factors, and the ways of dealing with them. UV radiation is named as the "major ager", so please keep that in mind the next time you head for the beach. On the other hand the authors also point out the many benefits of sun radiation. As usual, moderation is the answer...
Not to be missed is Chapter 16, titled "The Fourteen Day You Extend Warranty Plan". It starts with the following "Daily YOU-Do List":
1. Walk thirty minutes
2. "Floss and brush the teeth that you wish to keep"
3. Take your pills (Omega-3s, vitamins, calcium supplements, aspirin, etc)
4. Sleep 7-8 hours
5. Meditate for 5 minutes
Is that all? I would never suspect it is THAT simple...
Another chapter that I liked is Chapter 12 titled "Live the Sexy Life". Wow, say that to me again! Yes, sex (love) is important for your wellbeing and keeping young. Grab the book for the explicit details...
I gave this book 4 stars. To get a 5 star longevity title check the books written by Tombak [...]

The Everything Organic Cooking for Baby and Toddler Book: 300 naturally delicious recipes to get your child off to a healthy start (Everything (Cooking))
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is exactly what I wanted in a baby food book. I wanted more longevity then the simple purees and I love the organic info and eating healthy. Lots of info in simple quick paragraph/pages. I don't need chapters and pages full of why you should feed/eat organics like most books do - bore you to death. I wouldn't have gotten the book if I didn't want to do organic. This one is precise, doesn't overdo the organic theories and just gives you the info you need to make the food. It gives recipes for up to ages 3 but really most of these recipes past 12 months are great for any kids 10 or younger - heck even adults. I have tried a few on my 8 year old (lentil soup, lemony rice, veggie lasagna, cherry coconut rice pudding) and she loves them. Me too! My 7 month old has had more then 10 recipes and they are great. Also, the items do not have to be organic if you can't afford them. The recipes are different but almost all of them have the items in a basic grocery store. All you need is a blender.
Chapter 1: ORGANICS 8 pages explaining what constitutes organic, what items are a must, what items are not as important, what items to get pesticide-free, when to get canned, frozen, fresh, How things will last in fridge/freezer.
Chapter 2: INTRO TO FEEDING Gives you a layout on when to start items, best times to introduce, watching for allergies, how long to wait to try new items, what items can cause constipation/diarrhea, food safety, sample kitchen equipment, etc...
Chapter 3: 4-6 months that are common sense but still needed to be written. When to mix with water or formula/breast milk. Most are one items for starting out but some are mixtures like banana pumpkin mash, pear mango puree, avocado and barley cereal.
Chapter 4: 6-9 months and WOW there are so many types of various recipes here. Coconut chicken and banana, kasha with peach and pear puree, lamb and pumpkin mash, orzo and sweet pea puree, island breakfast cereal, beef stew mash, etc...
Chapter 5: 9-12 months and the recipes keep coming. Mango honeydew sorbet, quinoa & peaches, turkey chili, happy birthday vanilla cake, carrot and zucchini muffins, lentil soup, etc...
Chapter 6: 12-18 months. Spaghetti squash and herbs, caribbean baked risotto, chicken pot pie muffins, cinnamon yogurt fruit dip, lemony rice asparagus salad, etc...
Chapter 7: 18-24 months: Broiled pineapple with frozen yogurt, zucchini yachts, cherry apple coconut rice pudding, eggy boats, veggie stir fry, pinto bean roll-up, etc...
Chapter 8: 24-36 months: veggie lasagna, white chili, breakfast pizza, beef brochettes, sunflower seed butter cookies, tofu stuffed shells, lemon rasberry ice pops, etc...
Appendix A
Shows sample weekly organic menues for all of the ages above. (I LOVE this!!!)
Appendix B
recommended websites to refer to if needed
Appendix C
Nutritional info for all the common baby foods (LOVE this too!!)
Appendix D
Glossery of basic cooking terms
Then an INDEX of all the recipes by name and also listed by ingredients.
Hope this review helps - I love the EVERYTHING books and this does not disappoint - highly recommend this book.

The 3-Season Diet: Eat the Way Nature Intended: Lose Weight, Beat Food Cravings, and Get Fit
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
As a person interested in nutrition and holistic approaches to health, I read and used concepts from this book and in my opinion it deserves a five start rating! The techniques the author presents work, and the plan is really easy to do. I lost weight and felt better incorporating the "large mid day meal" concept and it works well for my busy household to eat more lightly in the evening, not to mention my digestion. Sometimes I just have to depart from the "seasonal" concept of which foods to select (gotta have that almond butter!), but overall it makes good sense to eat what is in season...it is always fresher and tastier! His recommendations on arising earlier in the morning and going to sleep earlier at night are also solid basics to regain and keep ones health. This book is a definite keeper!

Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Recipes for Two (NYM Series) Review

Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Recipes for Two (NYM Series)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I ordered this after reading a recipe in our local newspaper taken from the book. It has some wonderful, original recipes, with clear instructions, and, even better, guidance about how to buy a small slow cooker and what you can do with it once you have it.
Most of the recipes are too large for the really small 1 1/2 quart slow cooker, though a few fit that size. Fortunately, each recipe includes a recommended cooker size in the instructions.
My only disappointment was that some of the recipes call for ingredients I cannot possibly find in my rural area grocery stores. But if you live in a city or metropolitan area you can probably find all the ingredients.
Finally, do not buy the "350 recipes" cookbook Amazon tries to bundle with this one in the "buy both" listing near the top of the page. It's really awful - I've reviewed it separately.
If you have a 3 quart slow cooker, you'll enjoy this cookbook.

The Fat Flush Foods : The World's Best Foods, Seasonings, and Supplements to Flush the Fat From Every Body Review

The Fat Flush Foods : The World's Best Foods, Seasonings, and Supplements to Flush the Fat From Every Body
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
ANN LOUISE GITTLEMAN, M.S., C.N.S, has written several books on nutrition
and diet. All are good....but BIG! For my money, all you really need
is this slim volume of 151 pages. No receipies are in it, (that's for the
other books...and if you want receipies, I do suggest you buy these other
books as well.) But if all you wnat is information -- LOTS of easily
understood, vital and important information, on the most important 50
"superfoods", (and prefer to get your receipes from other sources)...THIS
IS YOUR BOOK! (Just as it is mine!)
Foods are listed logically, under each chapter. The eight chapters are:
Fat Flushing, (F.F.) Staples; F.F. Proteins; F.F. Vegetables; F.F. Fruits F.F. Herbs and Spices; Surprising F.F. Foods; and F.F. on a Budget. Also included are un-numbered chapters, (an appendix, though not named as such), in which are chapters on "General Fat Flush Support and Resources",
"References and Notes", and an (annotated) index.
Each food is first listed as having one (or more) of five fat-flushing
qualities. These are listed as "Energiser", "Blood Sugar Stablizer", "Cholesterol Zapper", "Thermogenic", and "Detoxifier". No food, herb or spice has all five -- but two of the listed foods have four.
It is very easy to make a chart of just the various virtues of each food or herb or spice -- but this book contains so much more info!
After listing each recommended edible's virtues, a short history of each food/herb/spice is given, along with a listing of all the varieties, and what this food/herb/spice has been used for, (such as cancer-prevention, cutting heart-attack risk), etc. Studies and hospitals are named. Then a "Recommended Use" is given. (Apples: An Apple A Day)! A "Just The Facts" section follows, listing one or more interesting facts on the edible being discussed. (For instance: "The Average American Eats About
120 apples a year--a far cry from an apple a day!") A "Boost The Benefits" section follows, listing a few ways to do just this, (For instance: "In the northern hemisphere, apple season begins at the end of summer and lasts until early winter. When you buy apples at other times of the year, they have been imported from the southern hemisphere". Following this is a "Be A Fat Flush Cook" section, containing hints on better cooking for each edible mentioned. In the apple section, one hint (out of 4) is: "The tarter the apple, the better it maintains texture during cooking." A "Think Twice" section follows, with admonitions such as "Commercially raised apples may have been exposed to as many as ten pesticides. You can avoid consuming these pesticides by removing the skin, but you will be sacrificing both fiber and flavinoids. Your other choices are to purchase organically grown apples, or to wash your apples in a Clorox bath, (See page 136).
Lastly, each chapter ends with a "It's Been Said" section, listing pithy and clever quotes, by both ordinary and well-known people. The two listed for "apples" are:
" I was looking for a fat-flushing alternative to sweet deserts, so I sliced an apple and shook the pieces in a plastic bag with a tablespoon of ground flaxseed and half-a-teaspoon of cinnamin.
Having this treat in the evening has helped me stick to the Fat Flush Plan -- and lose 25 pounds!" -- Sandy M, Callifornia

" Comfort me with apples, for I am sick. " -- King Solomon
The "Fat Flushing on a Budget" Chapter guves many money-saving tips for
following the fat-flush plan. "Fat Flush Resources" gives websites and addresses for futher help, as well as listing Ms. Gittleman's other (excellent!) books. The "References and Notes" section, as well as the
"Index" section are detailed and easy to reference.
All in all, a LOT of book in very few pages. I, for one, highly recommend it!

Healthy Calendar Diabetic Cooking Review

Healthy Calendar Diabetic Cooking

I received this book in Feb., but started with the first week of recipes. Most of the meals have been good, some have been excellent. They seem to be right in line with low glycemic diet guidelines. Several meals that claim to serve 4 didn't serve 3. I have skipped some meals, but have tried several new herbs and vegs.
One reservation--not everyone can tolerate chili, cumin, cayenne pepper, and other "hot" food items. Suggestions for alternate flavorings would have been nice.
I intend to keep using this book to the end, and then start over again, with my own notes and reminders on each recipe I have already tried.

....Deepak Chopra is a prolific and successful author. He also creates great titles--who can resist the offer of "Perfect Health?" I checked it out at the library because I was compelled to see if the book lived up to the title. Chopra introduces us to what he calls the "quantum mechanical human body." His theory is that "by treating the underlying quantum mechanical body itself, Ayurveda can bring about changes far beyond the reach of conventional medicine, confined as it is to the level of gross physiology." Sounds good to me. Let's get to those devils, the details. First we take tests to learn which body type we are, Vata, Pitta, or Kapha, or a combination thereof. We learn that these names also refer to doshas, "metabolic principles." By implication, we surmise that we must keep these doshas in balance or our health will suffer. We learn about the twenty-five gunas, or fundamental qualities. We learn about the subdoshas. We address How To Balance Your Doshas: diet, exercise, daily routine, seasonal routine. Then we get right to it, Opening the Channels of Healing. This encompasses panchakarma, meditation, primordial sound, pulse diagnosis, marma therapy, bliss technique, aroma therapy and Gandharva music therapy. That's where my problems with this book began. After convincing me of the value of meditation I learned that "meditation needs to be learned from a qualified instructor, it cannot be learned from a book." Primordial sound, I read, "is a medical treatment taught by a qualified Ayurvedic doctor after a complete diagnosis of the patient's condition." Then "any patient who comes in for a consultation with an Ayurvedic doctor is routinely given pulse diagnosis." "Most Ayurvedic clinics offer a special marma therapy that includes instruction for home treatment." As for the bliss technique, "Instruction is by a qualified teacher who is also an Ayurvedic physician and takes about an hour; a complete medical evaluation precedes the actual teaching." Finally, at aroma therapy, we find something we can do for ourselves, but we are pointed to page 317, where we may find sources for oil, aroma pots and diffusers. Ghandharva music also requires no instruction beyond the book, except of course we are told to buy the tapes and CDs "from the sources listed on page 317." The marketing continues with Ayurvedic herbs, called rasayana. After selling us on the value of same, "You can obtain further information regarding these rasayanas by writing to Quantum . . ." We are also encouraged to drink teas appropriate to our body types--yes, from sources on page 317. My biggest disappointment, though, came in the section on diet. I learned that I should not be eating many of the items that have kept me healthy for sixty-five years, onions, garlic, carrots, spinach, tomatoes, bananas, yogurt, cheese and eggs, and that I should be drinking cow's milk which I've not touched in decades, and I should be eating ghee, which is butter with the water cooked out of it. Chopra writes that I should minimize raw foods, which flies in the face of everything I have learned about food over the last many decades.
This book contains some reasonable ideas. The rub is that the book buyer gets only a few ideas they can use and a lot of ideas for which the author tells us we need an Ayurvedic doctor or products. As usual in his books, he provides scientific tidbits, sensational anecdotes and little scientific data.
Ayurvedic theory and practice dates back in India more than 5,000 years. Chopra urges us that Ayurvedic practitioners and practices will give us longevity and perfect health. Ayurveda is "the science of life" or, as Chopra prefers, "the knowledge of life span." Others say it is the science of longevity. I checked that out. According to The World Health Organization, India ranks 134th of the 191 countries recognized for "healthy life expectancy." (The USA ranks 24th.) There are other reasons why Indian health statistics are so poor, but it is difficult to take seriously an ancient practice that seems to have failed in its native country. I think that Deepak Chopra is an essentially good person who has been caught up in the American mania for fame and fortune. I suggest that our money is better spent on books that give instructions we can follow without travelling to a doctor's office or buying exotic foods, herbs and essences.

I am a physician who manages a suburban metabolic and nutrition program for obese and overweight children. It amazes me how complex it is to unravel the passionate and unhealthy philosophy many people have about exercise and nutrition. So many people are struggling fruitlessly with their goals as they are overwhelmed by seemingly endless waves of misleading advertisements and contradictory information about lifestyle and nutrition. There is so much unbelievable noise out there that many people are left feeling hopeless, defeated and not knowing what to do. The Body Fat Solution is a very healthy, very welcome voice of reason among all that noise.
As I develop nutrition plans for my patients I will frequently reference the precepts outlined in Tom Venuto's brilliant e-book Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle. Honestly, I found this e-book to be a very approachable and comprehensive volume dealing with nutrition, exercise and hormonal physiology. (I would highly recommend this e-book for anyone who wants a more detailed explanation of macronutrients, hormonal physiology, and meal planning.) However, The Body Fat Solution is an indispensable development to this excellent work.
In my experience patients do not struggle as much with "what to do" but rather struggle with "the doing of it". In the first few consultations with a new patient I can usually disarm the passionate obsession with whatever flavor of macronutrient phobia they have and outline the physiological rational behind consistently eating a calorie based diet of lean protein, whole unprocessed foods, and essential fats. In this motivational clinical setting most patients will readily agree to begin journaling and commit to starting an exercise and nutrition program.
However, the problems arise as soon as they leave my office and are once again buffeted by their busy schedule, advertising, misleading labels, psychological defense mechanisms and emotional ties to eating. Most of the time I spend on subsequent patient visits centers on developing strategies of how to interface the program we have developed into their lifestyle. The strategies revealed in The Body Fat Solution do an excellent job addressing these issues.
The Body Fat Solution outlines all of the necessary tactics to tackle these intangible influences on our nutrition and exercise plans. The first four chapters outline the evolution of obesity and how our beliefs, attitudes and emotional ties to food play a significant role in this unhealthy homeostasis. In chapter five you are taken step-by-step through the essential process of goal setting and reprogramming your mental awareness of the beliefs and attitudes that can sabotage your plans. Then in chapters six through eight you are treated to the most insightful and logical nutrition and exercise program I have ever seen. Everything you need to know ... it's all there ... very motivational and very doable! Finally chapters nine through twelve outline all the necessary environmental and social strategies needed to start you on the way to maintaining your new and healthy self.
Quoting The Body Fat Solution, "There is no way around it - to tackle a problem like body fat, which has so many causes, you must make changes in every area of your life. You have to eat better, train consistently, manage your emotions, change your thinking, get the support you need, and put it all together in a healthy lifestyle." I couldn't agree more. In my opinion The Body Fat Solutions gives you all the necessary tools to do just that.
