It is not the prettiest tomato because the top retains some green color and is kind of wrinkled, however when the top slice is cut away there is (in my opinion) no other tomato in the world to match this tomato especially for a home gardiner. First it has reportedly won every taste contest for the last two hundred years (however I can't verify this personally) The flavor is so good that you will agree it is the best tasting tomato that you have ever bitten into. The meat is fleshy with small seed cavities and is a fairly large tomato. It is an indeterminate varity so the tomatos ripen fruits over a long time span, it will provide tomatos for family and friends until frost and after if you ripen the fruits inside. This tomato is well suited for a family garden because it produces over a long time span, the way a family eats, where the determinate varities produce everything in a ten day period which is good for some types of canning although the Brandywine will allow some home canning every week
